In order to meet a large number of data processing needs, more and more chipsets are put into the host, and at the same time, the operating frequency of the CPU and chipsets is also increasing. More chipsets and faster clock frequencies mean more heat generation. For notebook computers, users not only require the system to have better performance, but also require light, thin, and small in appearance. This is another challenge faced by designers. In a limited space, how to dissipate the heat generated by the system is a difficult problem.
How to take into account system performance, system comfort (including the temperature of the notebook computer shell, the noise generated by the fan rotation), and system running time is an important issue in notebook computer design. The components that need to monitor the temperature in the notebook computer are the typical system block diagram of the notebook computer. The CPU is the largest heat source in the system. At present, the Intel Dothan processor commonly used in notebook computers has an instantaneous maximum power consumption of about 37W, and the AMD Athlon processor has an instantaneous maximum power consumption. About 35W to 40W, the instantaneous maximum power consumption of Intel's next-generation Merom processor will be as high as 50W.
CPU is an important target for temperature detection in computers. At present, whether it is an Intel or AMD CPU, the CPU contains a diode for remote temperature detection to provide a temperature sensor to directly detect the temperature of the internal die of the CPU and perform precise temperature control on it.
In recent years, the process of industrial modernization in my country and the continuous rapid growth of the electronic information industry have driven the rapid rise of the sensor market. As an important category of sensors, temperature sensors account for more than 40% of the total sensor demand. Especially in the past two years, the market share of temperature sensors is showing a trend of accelerating increase year by year. Therefore, the current domestic market urgently needs the emergence of leading corporate leaders to guide sensors to abandon the dependence on imported products, independent research and development and innovation, and lead my country's sensor market to gradually localize.
