High temperature pressure sensors and types

High temperature pressure sensor is a pressure sensor widely used in various industrial automation. It solves the pressure measurement of gas and liquid in high temperature environment. It is mainly used to measure the pressure in boilers, pipelines, high temperature reaction vessels, downhole pressure and pressure in various engine chambers, high temperature oil level and detection, oil well pressure measurement and other fields. The high-temperature pressure sensors that are more researched mainly include SOS, SOI, SiO2, Poly2Si and other semiconductor sensors , as well as sputtered alloy film high-temperature pressure sensors, high-temperature optical fiber pressure sensors, and high-temperature capacitive pressure sensors . Compared with piezoresistive pressure sensors, semiconductor capacitive pressure sensors have high sensitivity, good temperature stability, low power consumption, and are only sensitive to pressure, not stress. Therefore, capacitive pressure sensors are widely used in many fields. However, in oilfield drilling, sputtering thin-film pressure sensors are used more often.

 

Application of Pressure Sensor for Oilfield Drilling

There are different types of pressure sensors for oilfield drilling pressure sensors according to the applications. There are two types of pressure sensors that are very common in the oil and gas industry. They are union pressure sensors and high temperature pressure sensors. Union pressure sensors are mainly used in oil field fracturing and other stimulation processes. The high temp  pressure sensor is a downhole pressure sensor, which is generally used in downhole instruments such as drilling tools and downhole pressure gauges to measure the pressure in the complex high temperature environment downhole. With the deepening of the drilling depth of oil wells, the current requirements for high temperature pressure sensors reach more than 200 ℃, and few pressure manufacturers can achieve such a high temperature resistance. Due to its difficulty in production and high process requirements, it is often very expensive.

 

In addition to high temperature resistance, the downhole high temperature pressure sensor also needs to take into account factors such as strong vibration during the operation, long continuous operation time, and long well depth signal loss and timely transmission.

 

Features of high temperature pressure sensor for drilling

  1. Under high temperature environment, the performance is stable. Generally high temperature resistance up to 175 degrees Celsius. The ultra-high temperature type can reach 225℃.

PPM-S314C oil well high temperature pressure sensor is a special high temperature transmitter for oil field. The temperature resistance of conventional products is 175℃. According to the actual needs of drilling, it can work stably at 200℃.

 

 

 

PPM-S312A high temperature pressure sensor is the same series of high temperature pressure sensor as PPM-S314C, both of which are made by high temperature core and sputtering film process. Only the shape is different from the S314C, which is suitable for selection under different shape requirements.
