Downhole pressure gauges oil and gas is a precise electronic instrument, which is mainly used for testing work of oil and gas wells. There are storage downhole pressure gauges , wireless downhole pressure gauge , Permanent downhole pressure gauge . The core is a high-precision sensor made of silicon or sapphire material . Under the action of external pressure and temperature, the pressure gauge generates oscillations of different frequencies, and the processed frequency values are recorded in the memory contained in the pressure gauge. Using the calibration coefficient of the pressure gauge for conversion, the collected frequency value can be converted into real pressure and temperature data and provided to the user.
Main indicators of the pressure gauge
The main performance indicators of the pressure gauge include pressure gauge accuracy, resolution and range. Accuracy is the degree to which the gauge indicates the magnitude of the deviation from the actual true value.
Resolution:also known as sensitivity, refers to the minimum signal perception value of the instrument. The level of resolution not only reflects the size of the test error, but also has a great influence on the test value of the pressure propagation radius and permeability.
Range: The range of the meter refers to the range on the meter dial. From the minimum scale value to the maximum scale value is called the full scale of the meter.
The core factors that affect the performance index of the downhole pressure gauge are the downhole pressure sensor used by the pressure gauge. It means that the downhole pressure sensor determines whether the downhole pressure gauge has the possibility of excellent performance.
How to choose the downhole pressure sensor
Downhole pressure sensor is also called ultra high temperature pressure sensor. When selecting a downhole pressure sensor, it is necessary to understand the accuracy, temperature drift, temperature range, sensitivity and range of the sensor. The comparison of the three core indicators of accuracy, sensitivity and range between downhole pressure gauges and pressure sensors tell us how to choose a ultra high temperature pressure sensor for the downhole pressure gauge .
- Accuracy. The accuracy of the downhole pressure gauge will generally be less than the accuracy of the sensor. Because it will be affected by factors such as temperature drift, installation method and site environment. For example, if the on-site environment is dynamic pressure, a pressure sensor with a higher frequency response needs to be selected.
- Resolution (sensitivity). The sensitivity of the downhole pressure gauge can be basically the same as that of the sensor, and the final effect has a great relationship with the circuit system of the downhole pressure gauge.
- Range. Range is a very important indicator in field applications. When selecting the downhole pressure sensor, it will be selected according to 50%~80%. For example , if we need a pressure of 100Mpa on site, then we choose a downhole pressure sensor with a maximum range of 125Mpa~200Mpa when selecting models.
In addition, the medium temperature, ambient temperature, and whether there is a viscous or acid corrosion medium also affect the selection of the pressure sensor.
